AAUW – The Green Bay Area Branch

 

The Green Bay Area Branch of AAUW currently has over 50 members.  We work to fulfill the AAUW mission and our branch vision:
To advance gender equality for women and girls through research, education and advocacy. 
By joining AAUW you belong to a community that breaks through educational and economic barriers so that all women and girls have a fair chance.

Through the branch you will have the opportunity to:

  • Attend branch meetings on topics of interest
  • Expand your community of friends and develop leadership skills
  • Support the AAUW FUNDS, which provide fellowships, research, project and professional development grants, leadership development programs, and public policy education
  • Provide local scholarships to students 25 or older earning their first post-secondary degrees
  • Participate in book discussion groups and cultural/community events
  • Monitor gender equity in our public schools and at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay
  • Participate in Get-Out-The-Vote activities and issue forums
Members receive the monthly BayNotes February 2026 newsletter and updates.

Members also receive the monthly state publication Badger Briefs November 2025

Art notes – February & March

FEBRUARY

Please join the art group on Thursday, February 12 to view the 111th annual Green Bay Art Colony exhibit at the Neville Public Museum. We will meet at the museum at 10:00. The Green Bay Art Colony is a growing and thriving group of female artists. For more thana century they continue to inspire each other, educate the public, encourage new artist and give scholarships to art students.

Lunch afterwards to be determined when the group gathers.

MARCH

Thursday March 12 we will be going to the Green Bay workshop of  Woodworker artist Dan Wieske.  He began as an apprentice carpenter in Montana  where he acquired the skills and experience for creative wood working. His inspiration is found in nature with its flowing shapes, tactual surfaces and subtleties of color.

The  monthly art exhibits the group will be visiting are listed below:

The Adelante book group meets the fourth Wednesday of the month at 5:30 at the Green Bay Distillery.  Each book chosen has a woman author.  The selections for this year are as follows:
